The City of Birmingham encourages public participation through various citizen boards and committees. The boards established by the City Council include, among others, the Planning Board, Parks and Rec. Board, Ethics Board, Board of Review, Advisory Parking Committee, Historic District Study Committee, Cablecasting Board, Historical Board, Design Review Board, Traffic and Safety Board, and Historic District Commission.
The purpose of each board and committee is to provide guidance and resolve issues affecting their area of responsibility. City staff provides support to the boards and committees in carrying out their assigned responsibilities.
