Celebrate Birmingham Hometown Parade and Party in Shain Park
Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 1 p.m.


The parade is a treasured community tradition that spans more than 40 years. It adds to Birmingham's sense of community and offers friends and neighbors a chance to visit along the parade route while enjoying community participants,  local organizations, performers, and more. The parade will begin near Booth Park and travel south along North Old Woodward Avenue, west along Maple Road and finally south along Bates Street before ending in Shain Park.

Following the parade, stay and play at the Party in Shain Park. Guests can expect a myriad of exciting entertainment. From face painting to sweet treats the Party in Shain Park will have something for everyone. Bring the kids for a day of play on the bounce houses and educational nature opportunities courtesy of Oakland County Parks. Activities include:

  • Face painting
  • Mini train rides
  • Bounce house
  • Photo op with Bluey
  • Crafts and entertainment
  • Hot dog stand
  • Ice cream truck
  • And more!

Celebrate Birmingham Hometown Parade on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm, rain or shine, followed by a family oriented Party in Shain Park.

The highly anticipated Celebrate Birmingham Hometown Parade and Party took place on May 21, 2023 in Downtown Birmingham and Shain Park. The event was well attended and had something for everybody to enjoy. The clerk's office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the entire community and all those who joined the parade or participated in the activities at Shain Park.
