Voters may also register by mail using this form: Michigan Voter Registration Application This form can be delivered to us in person, by mail, email, or the green drop box on the south side of City Hall.
The passage of the statewide ballot proposal 18-3 in November, 2018 changed the deadlines for voter registration. New Rights for Michigan Voters, published by the Michigan Bureau of Elections, details the deadlines and requirements for registering to vote:
- The deadline to register to vote in any manner other than with the City Clerk's Office is 15 days before the election.
- Voters may register up through Election Day in-person at the City Clerk's Office with proof of residency. The City Clerk's Office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and the Saturday immediately preceding an election 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to register voters and issue absent voter ballots.
- A current utility bill
- Bank statement
- Paycheck
- Government check
- Other government document
