There’s a new officer in town and she’s ready to serve and protect. Well, maybe just serve. Bella, an 18 month old black Labrador/Golden Retriever mix has joined the department as a certified therapy dog. Bella will work with adults and children in need of comfort and compassion resulting from traumatic or stressful events. Bella will also travel to schools with officers during speaking engagements or when officers are present to ensure safety. Bella will be seen walking the downtown streets, City parks and other events with officers to engage the public as a friendly police presence. Bella can usually be found in the Chief’s office or in the clerical area of the police department when she is not out and about. Please stop by and say hello. Bella loves visitors and sharing her toys!
